I spent far too many years sat in the dark, stressed out controlling aeroplanes as an Air Traffic Controller. It was time for a change and to see some daylight so I hung up my headset and got out my pens and sticky tape and started making cards! Quite a career swerve! It all started as a hobby because I wanted to send special cards to my friends and family that simply weren't in the shops. I rapidly found that I was making cards for colleagues, friends and neighbours who all felt the same. The response was always the same that the cards were so much better that the massed produced cards for sale in the High Street and at a reasonable price too. As people started to want to pay me for the cards I decided to make a business of it and so Dottie Designs began. By January 2006 I was creating card orders for the complete year for people, had started to sell in shops and even had an aeroplane collection at the Fleet Air Arm Museum! In 2007 the website was born allowing a wider audience to experience the cards. Response has been incredible and my local Post Office is in no danger of closing! Personalised cards and Design a Card have been particularly popular with anything goes as the ethos!! Wedding cards with the Bride and Groom's names and the date of the Wedding, Baby birth cards with the name of the baby, the weight and the date of birth. Some of these have been framed as a wonderful momento of the occasion which is an enormous compliment to me. I hope that you enjoy browsing through the designs.
